Calls for Papers Online Submission

The submission deadline for calls for papers for the January 2011 convention has passed. The MLA will begin accepting calls for papers for the 2012 convention this summer.

To submit your call for papers electronically, please review the following instructions:

  1. To log in, you will need your MLA membership ID number and password.
  2. Calls for papers may be a maximum of 35 words in length, including session title, submission requirements, and submission deadline.
  3. You may click on the Count Words button below the text box to see if you have exceeded the 35-word limit.
  4. Once you have completed the form and verified that your contact name, address, and e-mail address are correct, press the Continue button to reach the Call for Papers Submission Review page.
  5. This will be your final opportunity to make changes to your call for papers, so please review the information carefully before submitting.
  6. When you are sure that the call for papers is correct, print a copy of the Review page for your records and then click Submit form. You will not be able to make changes to your call for papers once you click Submit form.
  7. Once you have submitted your call for papers, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
  8. As the session organizer, you are responsible for acknowledging all submissions and inquiries regarding your call for papers.
  9. Please note that each entity (division, discussion group, MLA committee, the American Literature Section, or allied and affiliate organization) may submit only one collaborative session.
