Presiding: John L. Schilb, Indiana Univ., Bloomington Speakers: Kirby Brown, Univ. of Texas, Austin; Cathy A. D’Agostino, New Trier Township High School, IL; Domino Renee Perez, Univ. of Texas, Austin Many high school and college faculty members face the challenge of teaching ethnic literatures to students who have never read beyond the most traditional works, students who lack the contextual knowledge that informs all interpretation, and students who question the value of reading ethnic literature.
