Session Description:
This roundtable discusses theoretical and methodological tools that science studies offers modernist scholars to move beyond an understanding of modernism that either ignores science altogether or assigns it a privileged position of autonomy and purity. The session explores ways in which science functions in the modernist imaginary and how the culture of science operates within the culture of modernity.
