Session Description:
As the academy changes, why does linguistics remain important for MLA disciplines? Presentations in this session will examine how linguistics remains important for several MLA members who teach and work outside traditional linguistics departments. Presentation topics include pragmatics of close reading and translingualism and transculturalism in writing and language programs.
