Session Description:
Increasingly important to the world economy as an engine of growth, the dynamic region of East Asia has for decades figured prominently for its critical geopolitical position. This roundtable explores how East Asia’s emergence onto the world stage has been reflected in recent English-language literature, with reorientation of both “Orientalist” paradigms and transnational perspectives.
