This session revisits and critiques some of the foremost concerns within posthumanism. Issues arising in the discussion include posthuman subjectivity; prosthetics and posthumanist disability studies; posthumanism, finitude, and the prospect of “life after people”; shifting relationships among humans, animals, and machines; cybernetics; the politics and ethics of the posthuman; the idea of a “posthumanism without technology.”
