Miki Wheeler; Jie Wu, Washington State Univ., Pullman This panel provides a new critical approach to biographical and autobiographical narratives in premodern China, Korea, and Japan. The discussion will identify valuable points of intersection between the representations of self and other across the cultures. It will also emphasize the continuities and limits, for this field, of movements, both foundational and more recent, in Western autobiographical theory.
