Polachek, Binghamton Univ., State Univ. of New York Session Description: Is it possible to identify certain epistemic, aesthetic, or ethical categories that can serve to characterize literary works across century borders? Does the idea of the early modern provide a useful frame for scholars today? This roundtable devoted to the question “What is the early modern?” invites scholars to reflect on their research and teaching practices.
