Session Description:

Awakening undergraduates' interest in texts of earlier periods involves fostering an awareness that goals, ideas, and desires that motivate our students motivated others in the past. The participants propose the use of current films, soap operas, and field trips, as well as the discussion of current mentalities, to help students appreciate earlier texts by articulating shared interests.

Subjects:

  • Comparative Literature – Medieval and Renaissance

  • Italian Literature
