Session Description:

The session addresses structural issues and encourages scholars to participate across MLA divisions and establish more explicitly cross-cultural comparative panels that will in turn increase reciprocal accessibility; the paradigmatic gap between national literature and world literature; how one might counter the trends of "Chinese exceptionalism"; the politics of writing and reading literary histories.
