Ieta; Anca Munteanu, LeMoyne Coll.; Ioana Sion, Univ. of Toronto; Jeanine Teodorescu, Lexington Coll.; Adriana Varga, Bloomington, Indiana The session will trace different time periods in the evolution of European dramatic literature, with the aim of demonstrating that modern theater only rediscovered the absurdist language, comical devices, and techniques of distanciation and foregrounding in use since the Renaissance.
