Session Description:

Moving beyond a conception of transpacific studies as synonymous with Asian diasporic writing, this roundtable offers multilayered perspectives on textual crossings, with work that encompasses Japanese emigrant memoirs from the colonial South Pacific, Chinese responses to travel memoirs by a US writer, and a fictionalized memoir of a transpacific crossing following the 2011 tsunami.
