We seek to understand how the vulnerability of exile and migrant subjects questions notions of community, geography, and cultural practice. The focus will be four "circuits" of migration and exile centered on Spain: the 1939 exile and recent migrations from Equatorial Guinea, Morocco, and Venezuela. Topics of discussion include geography, polyglotism, translocality, gender, and race.
