Session Description: The collegiate foreign language (FL) profession is faced with a number of challenges ranging from real or threatened closings of departments to increased pressure to instrumentalize course offerings for the preprofessional student population. This roundtable discussion gathers representatives from collegiate FL departments to discuss concrete measures taken to build sustainable programs that highlight the importance of FL study for a liberal arts education.
