Travel arrangements may be made through the MLA convention travel Web site hosted by MacNair Travel Management, the official travel coordinator for the MLA Annual Convention.
Airline Discounts
- United Airlines (the official carrier for the 2012 MLA Annual Convention): up to 10% off applicable fares

The above discount is valid for travel to Seattle from 2 to 11 January 2012 on Amtrak regional trains or sleepers and for business-class or first-class seats. This offer is not valid for the Auto Train or Acela service. The Amtrak convention fare discount is only available for reservations made by phone.
Automatic Flight Insurance
- $100,000 in accident insurance is provided at the point of sale at no additional cost in conjunction with an airline ticket purchased through MacNair Travel.
MacNair will send electronic ticket receipts and itineraries for your airline and train tickets and rental car reservations to your e-mail address if you book through the Web site or if you book over the phone. There is a service fee of $35 per ticket for telephone reservations or $10 per ticket for reservations made through the Web site. Reservations for air travel and rental cars can be made on the MLA convention travel Web site at any time.

Transportation to and in Seattle
MLA convention hotels are located in downtown Seattle near the Washington State Convention Center.
Airport Transportation
Sea-Tac International Airport (Sea-Tac) is less than fifteen miles from downtown Seattle. For airport information, visit www.portseattle.org/seatac or call 206 787-5388. Shuttle transportation from Sea-Tac to the downtown Seattle convention hotels is available from Shuttle Express (www.shuttleexpress.com). To make reservations, call 425 981-7000 or 800 487-7433. Link light rail connects downtown Seattle to Sea-Tac; the ride takes less than forty minutes from the airport to Westlake Center, located three blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and near the convention hotels. Taxis from Sea-Tac to the downtown Seattle convention hotels cost $35–$45; service from the downtown hotels to Sea-Tac is a $35 flat fee. The in-city fare is metered at $2.50/mile.
Metro Bus System
King County Metro Transit operates throughout Seattle; for information on routes and fares, visit www.metro.kingcounty.gov. In the downtown zone, Metro buses are free between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
