Beginning in the academic year 2010–11, the MLA Annual Convention moves to January. The 2011 convention will be held 6–9 January in Los Angeles. Please see the links below for details. "The New MLA Convention for 2011" contains important information about the new convention schedule, types of meetings, and changes to guaranteed sessions. "Submit Ideas for Collaborative Sessions" contains information about the new collaborative sessions for existing entities (divisions, discussion groups, MLA committees, the American Literature Section, and allied and affiliate organizations). Please note that each entity may submit only one collaborative session.

Future conventions will take place in Seattle (5–8 January 2012) and Boston (3–6 January 2013).
