Printer friendly page Printer-friendly page
  • Enter the names, affiliations, and paper titles (if applicable—roundtable sessions and workshops do not list paper titles) in the spaces provided. The first example is the roundable format. The second example is the formal session format. Workshops will have space only for a presider.
  • NOTE: Names must be entered exactly as they appear in the membership database and participants must be current MLA members for the system to recognize the names as members. Sessions may not include more than two participants from the same institution.
  • If the proposal is accepted, the information printed in the Program will be taken directly from the information provided in this section. Therefore, paper titles should be entered exactly as they should appear in the Program, and participants should be listed in the order that they should appear in the Program.
  • The presider will introduce the session and the speakers at the convention and is responsible for directing the session, enforcing time limits, and providing the required fifteen-minute discussion period. The presider may be but does not have to be the person who has organized and proposed the session. There is normally only one presider for a session.

Roundtable Session

  • If you need to add a copresider, click on the link above the presider's affiliation.
  • If you need to add copresenters or additional presenters, click on the links provided to access applicable pop-up screens (not applicable for roundtable sessions). The link to add a copresenter is located above the affiliation box for each speaker. The link to add more presenters is located below the spaces for speaker 3.
  • The Delegate Assembly has approved a policy that there must be a fifteen-minute discussion period at the end of each session; therefore, the Program Committee strongly recommends that there be no more than three principal papers in a formal session.
  • Session and paper titles cannot be changed once they have been submitted. You should have commitments from all the session participants before submitting your proposal.
  • Click Save and Finish Later to save the form and resume later, or click Continue to proceed to the Confirm Participants page.
