Call for Action on Federal Budget Cuts

The MLA Executive Council has issued a statement opposing cuts to language and humanities programs in the 2011 federal budget and has asked members in the United States to contact President Obama, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and their senators and representatives to voice their objections to the cuts. The council also calls on President Obama and Congress to ensure that these programs receive adequate funding in 2012.
