Constitutional Amendment Proposed
At its February 2010 meeting, the MLA Executive Council proposed a constitutional amendment to raise the threshold for membership ratification votes on resolutions. Because resolutions are statements from the membership to the broader public regarding issues of critical importance to the MLA, the low level of participation in ratification votes in recent years has been of particular concern. The next step in the amendment process is consideration by the Delegate Assembly at its meeting during the January 2011 convention in Los Angeles. Additional information about the proposed amendment, including the amendment text, is available at the Web site.
