Job Information List to Provide Dossier and Search-Management Tools
This fall, the MLA will expand its services for job seekers and hiring departments, offering dossier and search-management tools through a partnership between the MLA Job Information List (JIL) and Interfolio (a leading provider of dossier services in higher education). Job seekers will be able to apply for positions directly from JIL ads, and all who apply for positions from the JIL will receive Interfolio accounts at no cost. With an account, job seekers can submit application letters and CVs electronically for free and can transmit a complete dossier online for six dollars. Advertising departments that choose to use Interfolio’s services will be able to receive, organize, review, and evaluate applicants’ materials electronically; manage search-committee members’ access to application materials; and communicate with applicants through individualized e-mail messages. More information about the new services is available in the JIL section of the MLA Web site.
