Member Giving Exceeds $100,000
UPDATED 5 July 2012
The MLA thanks members for contributing more than $100,000—a record—to the association’s restricted funds in the membership year that ended on 30 June. Donations to these funds make possible the ongoing work of the association, including promoting the study and teaching of language and literature; supporting travel to the annual convention for graduate students, non-tenure-track faculty members, and unemployed members; and providing membership and travel funds to scholars in soft-currency and developing nations. Leading contributors for the 2011–12 fiscal year are listed on the MLA Web site.
