MLA President Responds to Op-Ed

In his 19 March letter to the editor, the MLA president, Russell A. Berman, responds to the Boston Globe op-ed by the presidents of Harvard and MIT, Drew Faust and Susan Hockfield. Faust and Hockfield’s appeal for federal funding for scientific research, says Berman, overlooks the importance of the humanities and social sciences in a global era.
