Results of Ratification Vote
In voting that was completed on 1 June, MLA members ratified the Delegate Assembly’s approval of a constitutional amendment and a resolution. The amendment bears on article 11.C.7 of the constitution; it requires that Delegate Assembly resolutions be approved by at least ten percent of the MLA membership. The resolution is a statement of support for undocumented students seeking legal status through higher education. Both the amendment and the resolution received affirmative votes from 10.7% of the membership. Overall, 12.1% of MLA members participated in the ratification vote, an increase of more than 150% over last year.
