Viewing Your Results
Once a search has been executed, you will probably see a listing of citations that fit your criteria. Each citation, or record, contains an author, a title, and a source. Unless you request otherwise, the citations are displayed in reverse chronological order. To view a full record, click on the title.
Citation Format
Citations are presented in a format defined by each vendor of the bibliography. The following fields are displayed in records as appropriate:
Author
Title
Paging
Date of publication
Publication type
Language of source
Subject (or descriptor) terms
Accession (or record) number
Update code
Records for books may also contain
Publisher
Place of publication
ISBN
Table of contents (for single-author monographs published in 2003 or later)
Series name
Series number
Records for journal articles may also contain
ISSN
Peer-review status
Records for dissertation abstracts may also contain
Degree-granting institution
Year of degree
Dissertation abstract number
The last three fields were added to the bibliography in 1991.
Your library may add a "holdings" message to the records for materials that the library holds.

These are examples of full record displays in CSA Illumina. Authors' names are underlined; by clicking on those names, you can search for other works by the authors. You can search the subject headings by marking the check boxes to the left of them.

These are examples of full record displays in EBSCOhost. Certain words or phrases are underlined; by clicking on one of them, you can perform another search (e.g., clicking on Arendt, Hannah will retrieve all records that include Arendt as a subject).
