Since 1958 the Modern Language Association has been conducting studies of language enrollments in all postsecondary institutions in the United States. The current study is partially supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The MLA enrollment survey concerns all languages other than English. To see the published results of the last survey, please go to www.mla.org/2009_enrollmentsurvey.
We appreciate the cooperation that directors of institutional research, registrars, and deans of enrollment have extended during past surveys. To maintain consistent, comparable data across twenty-three surveys and fifty-five years, we need to continue to tabulate enrollments for all institutions. Your prompt reply will save the expense of additional efforts to reach you. Even if your institution had no students enrolled in language courses in fall 2013, your response is necessary to our tabulation.
You may e-mail email@example.com if you want to make changes after submitting the survey.
