Schedule of Fees for Job Listings
Submissions: Listings may be submitted for an initial run of six, eight, or twelve weeks and publication in a single print edition at the following rates. Departments that are current members of ADE or ADFL will receive a $25 discount for each listing. Listings are free for two-year institutions and secondary schools.
- Six weeks: $175 for the first 150 words and 85¢ for each additional word
- Eight weeks: $275 for the first 150 words and 85¢ for each additional word
- Twelve weeks: $325 for the first 150 words and 85¢ for each additional word
Renewals: Listings may be renewed at the following flat rates (no charge for additional words). Departments that are current members of ADE or ADFL will receive a $25 discount per listing. Note: only the six-week renewal option includes publication in a second print edition.
- Two weeks (online only): $100
- Four weeks (online only): $125
- Six weeks (online only): $150
- Six weeks (online and print): $150
To avoid duplicate billing, please submit only one copy of your job listing. Listings in the JIL do not require prepayment; you will be billed when your listing in published. There will be a $20 surcharge for each listing submitted by mail, fax, telephone, or e-mail.
Federal law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, disability, or national origin. The MLA Job Information Service reserves the right to edit all statements to conform to such regulations. Statements from foreign language departments requiring that applicants be "native speakers" of a given language will not be accepted. Phrases such as "native command," "native fluency," and "native-level speaker" are acceptable.
Graduate students and faculty members in departments that belong to ADE (Association of Departments of English) or to ADFL (Association of Departments of Foreign Languages) are allowed free access to the online JIL through the ADE and ADFL Web sites (www.ade.org; www.adfl.org). Member departments also receive a print copy of the appropriate JIL.
