The "About" icon takes you to the MLA Language Map FAQ. Click on How can I find out where the languages listed on this site are spoken outside the United States? to learn more about a particular language, such as where else in the world it is spoken. The answer links to Ethnologue, a Web site where you can look up languages alphabetically--for example, Assamese, which was reported spoken by 750 Americans in 2000.
The FAQ section also has links to a Zip Code Finder, frequently updated US and world population clocks, and an interactive site offering information on migration and immigration in the United States.
