MLA Language Map We saw that Arizona and New Mexico have large populations of Navajo speakers. You can create a map of a state such as Arizona: The map indicates that the largest population of Navajo speakers (20,000-49,999) is found in the northeastern counties of the state.

At the bottom of the page is a list of languages spoken in Arizona in order of rank. You can also sort the list alphabetically. The bar graph indicates that Navajo is the third most commonly spoken language in Arizona. Until you have selected a specific state map, the numbers in the list will always be for the entire United States, even if you zoom in on a state. Only the upper portion of the list is shown here.
