The default mode of the MLA Language Map shows numbers of speakers by county. Each shape on the map is a county and is colored according to the number of speakers in that county. To see the names of counties, click the box for the layer "County names" and then click "Update map." Zoom in if names overlap.
Apache and Navajo counties have the largest populations of Navajo speakers. To find out the exact numbers of Navajo speakers in these counties, click on the "Data" icon at the top of the page or on the link "Tabular data" beneath the check box for county names.
