MLA Language Map Data Center Function 2. The "Language by State" function shows in which states a particular language is spoken. The largest number of Russian speakers in the United States is found in New York. Although the total number of speakers in New York increased from 2000 (218,765) to 2005 (232,434), the percentage of total United States Russian speakers reported in New York has fallen.

You can find data about less commonly spoken languages (2000 only) by clicking "Back to Data Center" and then clicking the Show Results button.
