What corrections have there been in the sixth edition since it was published?

The second printing of the sixth edition of the MLA Handbook was released in March 2004. This printing is identified on the copyright page. There are two notable corrections in the second printing:

(1) Sections 1.4.6d, 5.9.7a, and B.1.8g contain an example for an article by Sami Youakim from the database Health Reference Center. In the first printing, the company that provided this database is cited inaccurately as InfoTrac. The name is changed to Gale in the second printing. (InfoTrac was the software interface through which Gale offered the database.) Similarly, the references to InfoTrac in the text discussions in 1.4.6c-d and 5.9.7 are also changed to Gale.

(2) In the list of common abbreviations (7.4), the definitions of rpt. are changed from "reprint, reprinted by" to "reprint, reprinted, reprinted by."

The third printing was released in April 2005. In this printing, the abbreviation for Japan was changed to Jpn. in 7.3, and a typographical error was corrected (the space after "http://" was removed in the Hawthorne example in 5.9.3b).
